2nd Wikipedia Day 2007 - Subject

The subject of the 2nd Wikipedia Day is:

"Open Software, Open Content"

The aim is to explain and make clear the difference between the two concepts.

Until present software was the thing one would think of when hearing the term "open content", but with Wikipedia a new chapter began, applying concepts like the GFDL to texts, images, videos, and so forth.

The first day will introduce free software and the licenses which go along with it, the second day will explain what Wikipedia is, and what Wikimedia is.
